ROONEY MARA TO PLAY AUDREY HEPBURN

Harper’s Bazaar: 2/12/2022

Rooney Mara is set to play the legendary Audrey Hepburn in a new biopic about her life.

Hepburn was famously known for her performances in classics such as Breakfast at Tiffany’s, My Fair Lady and Sabrina. Over her four-decade-long career, she won an impressive collection of awards, and was one of the rare few to achieve EGOT status – meaning she scooped an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony.

The Academy Award-nominated Mara, known for her roles in The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and Carol, will play Hepburn as well as act as producer, working with Oscar-nominated Call Me by Your Name director Luca Guadagnino, and The Giver co-writer Michael Mitnick, who will pen the script, according to Variety.

Behind her immaculate, elegant wardrobe – which is still adored today – and her famed films, Hepburn had a troubled life. Last year, British film director Helena Coan delved deeper to find out more about her life to produce the 2020 documentary Audrey.
