The Cannes Film Festival 2022 has arrived, and true to form, it finds cinema’s biggest stars travelling from near and far for film premieres and after-parties seeped in glamour. A sea of glittering dresses and smart suiting, it’s a major event for fashion for sure. But all the best dressed attendees see to it that their beauty looks are just as impactful — if not more.

There are the stars who embrace a certain timelessness, like Julianne Moore with her cascade of loose waves and a russet smoky eye that brought out her signature crimson mane, or Rebecca Hall who sported a tousled sun-kissed pixie with a stamp of red lipstick that effortlessly captured the Gallic spirit. 

Then, of course, there are those who go a bit bolder to unforgettable effect. Viola Davis dazzled with a crystal-embellished flower hair brooch tucked into her Afro, while Bollywood icon Deepika Padukone wore a dramatic set of thick onyx wings. Ever the luminous mother-to-be, Adriana Lima’s pregnancy glow was evident above her black Balmain gown with a strategic cut-out drawing attention to her growing baby bump.
