In the latest in our series of ’90s trend broadcasts, we bring you utility trousers.
Now, we don’t like to be presumptuous or suggest that our beloved readers are remotely predictable, but we think it’s a pretty safe bet to presume that your trouser suits are getting a *lot* less action post-pandemic than your tracksuits.
And before you get defensive and start proudly regaling tales of that two-piece you ‘wore’ (tried on) a few weeks ago you should know that there’s no judgement here – we’re with you all the way. As, in fact, is most of the population. Some habits really are hard to shift, particularly when they’re such comfy ones…
But with national lockdowns seemingly behind us (touching all the wood) and spring a mere few days away, it’s time to reacquaint ourselves with the beauty of a good suit.
Sure, they’re not always as comfy as your favourite loungewear, but they are just as easy to work with when it comes to putting an outfit to put together. Even if you’re still working from home, they have a transformative power that simply cannot be matched by even your chicest tracksuit.
How motivated, for example, did you feel for that big company meeting as you dragged yourself out of bed, brushed just the front (visible) tendrils of hair and threw on said tracksuit ? We’d argue that there’s little that’ll make you feel ready to tackle a day of Zoom meetings in the kitchen quite like an epic new suit.
